Yelp Paris’s most recent Elite Event was at one of my all time favorite bars in Paris, Dirty Dick. This bar reminds me of my favorite bar in Denver, Adrift. I’m so glad to have a tiki getaway here in Paris. Silly, am I?
Dirty Dick is a tiki bar in the Pigalle neighborhood, run by a cocktail wizard from Los Angeles. The bar is open every evening and has a wide variety of cocktails to match whatever you’re dreaming of on your Hawaiian holiday to yummy beers. The bar carries some bottled Rogue ale beer, which has a mean IPA or two.
When you walk in, you’ll feel like you’re in that Hawaii episode of Mad Men…. or those episodes where the Brady’s were in Hawaii on holiday….I mean, I felt that way at least! It’s fantastic! The decoration is impeccable and classy, rather dark with red and blue lights that light up the palm tree carpet and totem poles. The bar is lined with bamboo-like barstools, and little cocktail umbrellas are every which way. Volcano punch bowls for collective cocktails? Yes, these exist, and they are at Dirty Dicks.
On this late Sunday afternoon, yelpers gathered from around the city of lights to enjoy cocktails, beachy tunes and delicious grub from Paris Superfood. We were in a tiki dream filled with summer grooves and Hawaiian shirts. It was magic.
Mai Tai’s, Piña Coladas and chia crackers +pudding…. it was an evening of down to earth, relaxing indulgence.
Thanks again, Yelp Paris, for such a smashing evening! And also many thanks to Dirty Dick for hosting, and Paris Superfood for the deliciously super duper supergrub.

Parisian summers are hot. Quite hot. Everywhere is hot. So hot. Having a cocktail when the sun goes down often makes you feel perfectly refreshed.
The Club is one of my favorite spots in Paris for drinks. Their cocktails are so unique, but with the classics of course on the menu, and in such a wonderfully decorated space. Not to mention how kind their staff is, holy moly.
This particular night a specific group of girls got together. Contrary to what you may think, the American expat community is pretty tight here in Paris. I feel like we all know each other somehow, or know of each other at least, or maybe even we know someone who knows someone who knows the other person…. and the only thing that was missing was being all together in the same place at the same time. After Lauren’s summertime picnic at Parc Monceau, a new sporadic tradition was born…. spontaneous get togethers. The more the merrier. Ta da!
This hot summer evening, we gathered to enjoy a cocktail or five together. Amongst the crowd were the creative ladies behind Oh la la livia, Prêt à Voyager, The Francofly, Love in the City of Lights, Diane A Broad, Savoir Faire Paris, Prête-Moi Paris, Folies du Bonheur, Ella Coquine, Fox in Paris, Ambitieuse + a few other fabulous gals that I had the chance to meet. There was some mad mixology going on that night.
My favorite cocktail by the guys at The Club is their classic old fashioned, which is usually my favorite in most bars, but hey, theirs is darn good and the perfect mix of tangy sweet and bitter. It always is so refreshing, and the perfect way to kick off an evening. Cheers to that. Give their snacks a whirl, little club sandwiches or grilled cheese.
Thanks ladies for such a wonderful evening filled with deliciously crafted cocktails.
And if you haven’t stopped by The Club yet, you probably should.

Prepare yourself… this place is indeed really really nice! The name of the joint had me at hello.
I found this place oh so randomly while surfing for cupcake shops in Amsterdam [since I am a loser]. As soon as I found it I made a reservation for a Saturday morning brunch while on my trip to visit a pal, which turned out to be heavenly and my favorite place discovered on this little trip to the city of canals.
G&T’s is in the northern part of the Jordaan district, to the west of Amsterdam’s central train station. We rode our bikes there that morning from Prinsengracht, and were ready for a delicious meal having heard oh so many things about this treasure. As G&T’s are known for their trendy atmosphere and fab brunches and cocktails, we were anxious to give it a try. I’m still dreaming of the lemon & ginger tea I had there, it gave me so many ideas. Oy would I love to have some kind of event there.
The tables and chairs are mix and match along with the dishes and cutlery. Pure adorableness. Imagine the explosion of a brocante revealing the most perfectly decorated space… with delicious food of great quality and sublime cocktails.
Make a rezo for brunch when you’re in Amsterdam next (all reservations are done via email). You won’t regret it. If you need some more details, check out their website and their FB for more details.
