I found this place oh so randomly while surfing for cupcake shops in Amsterdam [since I am a loser]. As soon as I found it I made a reservation for a Saturday morning brunch while on my trip to visit a pal, which turned out to be heavenly and my favorite place discovered on this little trip to the city of canals.

G&T’s is in the northern part of the Jordaan district,  to the west of Amsterdam’s central train station. We rode our bikes there that morning from Prinsengracht, and were ready for a delicious meal having heard oh so many things about this treasure. As G&T’s are known for their trendy atmosphere and fab brunches and cocktails, we were anxious to give it a try. I’m still dreaming of the lemon & ginger tea I had there, it gave me so many ideas. Oy would I love to have some kind of event there.

The tables and chairs are mix and match along with the dishes and cutlery. Pure adorableness. Imagine the explosion of a brocante revealing the most perfectly decorated space… with delicious food of great quality and sublime cocktails.

Make a rezo for brunch when you’re in Amsterdam next (all reservations are done via email). You won’t regret it. If you need some more details, check out their website and  their FB for more details.

Amsterdam’s most adorable bake shop: De Bakkerswinkel (which literally means The Bakery). This place was recommended to me and I am oh so happy that it was! If I lived in Amsterdam I think I would be there all the time.

There a many locations across the city, and the one pictured above is in the Red Light district. Some shops have tea rooms and some are tiny with things to go. In the big ones, you can go for breakfast, lunch, or for a lovely high tea. It’s fantastic and their food is made from high quality ingredients and is  absolutely delicious …and has got quite the Dutch twist!

Isn’t it just the cutest?

Oh, dear Amsterdam… you are so wonderful.

Do you recognize any of these places?

What an ever so lovely city. I lucked out with the weather, as it actually felt like summer. The sun was shining and everyone was out and about picnicking in parks and corner cafés flooded into the streets with smiling people chatting over a nice chilled beer.  It was so peaceful riding bikes along the canals and discovering little shops and things. I can’t wait to go back again sometime soon.

My favorites in Amsterdam:

I have lucked out with the weather in the Netherlands this week, it’s been hot and sunny!

Yesterday we took the train to Zandvoort to hang out at the beach a bit in the sun. It was wonderful and finally felt like summer. I’m pretty sure a large portion of the population of Holland was there, as it was quite crowded!
