This is a story of a surprise package in the mail… with something delicious inside.

So when I was in Amsterdam visiting a close friend, I had the opportunity to meet her honey and his crew that were all Catalan. On this trip I discovered Spanish food. I have never been to Spain (YET), but this was certainly the closest I’ve felt!

I fell in love with the jamón. It is just so delicious and finely cut. So distinct. Just damn tasteful.

A few weeks after I had received a small white package in the mail with no return address, and it was the cutest surprise of all time….. JAMON IN THE MAIL FROM BARCELONA. IT WASN’T A DREAM.

Could my pals be any sweeter? I’m spoiled!

Have you ever received something crazily adorable in the mail?

Je suis jalouse de ton jambon par la poste! I’d probably go to jail if I had that delivered here in Qatar!

When my gentleman and I were first dating, long-distance (him in Paris and me in Los Angeles), he sent me a graphic novel about first love in the mail because we’d talked about graphic novels all through our first date. So sweet.

How sweet! (Or rather salty :p )
I haven’t received anything so clever in the mail, although a new Italian friend I’ve made here (in Germany) has offered to include me the next time he and his colleaugues put in an order for parmiggiano and pecorino cheeses from Italy :)

My friend sends my fountain pen refills from Germany, all the way to Australia. …okay, I realise that doesn’t sound very spectacular, but when she was down here she had this fountain pen that I loved to death, and when she left I found it in my pocket the next day. It’s one of my favourite possessions!
