I felt like it was about time that I shared my little nid with you guys. I’m always raving about trinkets and antique markets, and I guess it’s about time you see my little world. Spaces are very important. I think you can tell a lot about a person by the space in which they surround themselves.

I’m a sucker for eye candy & randomness.

I inherited the obsession for trinkets, things and all things homey from my mother.

Our home in Colorado was filled with souvenirs from my parent’s travels: baskets from Iraq, chests from Kuwait, furniture from Santa Fe, or Aboriginal works of art. Anything and everything from anywhere. The mixtures of modern and traditional. The mixtures of colors and textures. My mother and grandmother’s artwork. The constant addition to rooms and walls to give them personality and life.

Having my own home now that has so much influence from the space I grew up in is so comforting, and most definitely adds to the coziness. Each little thing has a story. Louis and I luckily share an obsession for trinkets & things, as well as antique markets and brocantes. Luckily our trinkets blend just right, creating our own special space.

What kind of space do you surround yourself in? What are your must haves on the shelves? I’ve always got to have little boxes and a cactus. Not sure why. It’s just one of those things!

Two Rent books and two sex books on the same shelf. I think we could be friends.

I am happy you have inherited something so unique from me! I have always loved trinkets….which are, when you gaze at them, reminders of that special place, time or space. I love being surrounded by my “things.” They are, indeed, a reflection of who we are. I think I inherited this from MY mom, which means we are all tied together in a special threesome. You never knew her, yet you and I are so much like her. Treasured!
