A good friend of Louis’s and now mine, Julien, is now a part of Juris- the group collaboration between him and Marcus Johnson, the ever-so-talented jazz pianist from DC. I had seen him a few times live in Paris, but now that they’ve kicked off Juris – Julien and Marcus are creating a whole new genre of music and spreading it across DC & ses environs at the moment.
Louis and I went down to DC last weekend, and came to find that it is quite precious! (I had been in 5th grade, but that doesn’t even count as a trip as I hadn’t really completely developed my consciousness and hardly remember the main things I did or saw). We went to the Marcus Johnson show at the famous Blues Alley hidden in the quiet streets of Georgetown. Sunny by day with quaint shoppers, but by night the alley cats came out and lined up to see Marcus Johnson rock out on his piano (in addition to the musical stylings of Juris and Alyson Williams).
Here are a few photos to document the weekend getaway:

‘Twas the perfect weekend getaway out of the Big Apple.
